Adding art to you space is a sure way to make an impact and add color, texture, and fun pattern. Like I’ve said before in this post, art can really change the “vibe” of the space and show your personality. A large single canvas would be great over the sofa, or a grouping of various styles and sizes to create a gallery wall.
Coffee Table Books

Your coffee table is a blank canvas that lends itself to show more of your style. Books are a subtle way to add substance and color to your room. I love stacking a group of 3-5 books on top of each other and placing a decorative object atop. The best part of coffee table books is that they can be great conversation starters, and again show your personality. Pick a subject of interest, peruse your local bookstore, and start gathering books that catch your eye! It’s that easy!

Pillow make everything better. Am I right? Not only do they instantly make everything 100x more comfy, they’re also one of the easiest and least expensive ways to add color to your sofa and chairs. I like to call them perfect for those who are a little ‘non-committal’ because they can be changed out for the season, or when you’re ready for something new.

A designer’s trick to anchoring the room and creating a visual connection between the “floating” pieces of furniture. I recommend to select a size that slightly extends beyond your sofa, 5×7 – 8×10 are my go-to sizes. Selecting a colorful area rug can be a simple way to add the most amount color to your room.

If you read my Monday post, you know how the wallpaper trend is making it’s way back to the walls. There are so many fun patterns and colors out there that are sure to make a statement. However, wallpaper has been known for it’s ability to stay on the wall… forever…. until now! So many companies are now making removable wallpaper so you don’t have to peel the wall for hours when you want a change. I’d recommend to start your search with Etsy for really cute and affordable options. If the wall seems too daring, place it behind a bookshelf for a subtle pop of color! Check out Robyn’s post here for great styling tips and her experience with removable wallpaper!
What’s your go-to trick when it comes to adding color? I’d love to know in the comments!
